Work Begins on Major Solihull Development.
Contractors have started work on a £60 million redevelopment of Chelmsley Wood town centre in North Solihull, West Midlands.
John Birch, a Director at Glanville Consultants says “This project has evolved over a number of years and we
are delighted that the first phase is underway now that our designs have been approved and the final funding arrangements are
in place.”
The project will transform the area through the regeneration of the town centre including a large new ASDA, a
refurbishment of the existing shopping centre, additional retail units, improved transport and parking facilities,
replacement Council accommodation and new office space.
Chris Wyman, Director of the Fordgate Group which owns the site, said “Glanville staff have been heavily involved in the
planning and design stages of this development and we are very excited about the effects that the new designs will have on the area.
The shopping centre, originally opened in 1970, will gain a new lease of life from the project.”
