Robins Gate, Bracknell
Robins Gate comprises 14 residential units in total, split between a three-storey apartment building partially built into the ground and six traditional-build family homes with associated roads and drainage on Larges Lane in Bracknell.
Glanville Consultants provided civil and structural engineering services to Gilbert Homes for a development on a site further complicated by the steep access gradient and its proximity to Bracknell Football Club resulting in the need for a carefully thought-out solution comprising multiple retaining walls to avoid undermining the adjacent football pitch.
The use of the latest 3D modelling and drainage software enabled Glanville Consultants to produce an elegant engineering solution which also met the planning conditions relating to the SUDS scheme approved for the scheme.
The resulting development is an excellent example of modern housing, designed in keeping with the local suburban landscape and seamlessly incorporated in a challenging and constrained site.
