Employed by Oakhill Group, Glanville was involved with the redevelopment of a former site of two car dealerships and a fuel filling station located on Southam Road, Banbury into a retail warehouse providing 56,000 sq ft of floor space with a total value of £3.5 million.
The project included remediation of contamination associated with the former fuel filling station. The scheme required a large span steel portal frame structure built off ground, improved using vibro displacement piling and incorporated the necessary structural detailing to accommodate a side extension should it be required in the future.
As well as structural design, Glanville was also responsible for the civil engineering aspects, including below ground drainage, car parking and associated estate roads and service yard. The enabling works included the diversion of existing public sewers and the re-alignment of existing roads servicing adjacent business units.
